Behavioral Health
We are proud to offer our patients psychological and behavioral health services, substance abuse services, and social services in a manner that is consistent with Native American values and traditions. With a special emphasis on access to prevention and affordable care, we strive to support the health, safety, and wellness of the members of our community.
Counseling & Behavioral Health
The Lassen Indian Health Center Family Services Department is committed to providing our community with services that can help to treat behavioral health issues as well as substance abuse. Our licensed psychologist and experienced mental health providers are dedicated to offering our patients the highest quality care available. Through their patient-centered approach, our mental health professionals ensure that patients receive access to comprehensive mental health services that focus on balance and healing. Therapy and counseling are available for children, teens, and adults. Our goal is to promote healing through lasting change in thoughts and behavior and to improve the personal lives, relationships, and professions of our patients.
In addition to counseling and therapeutic services, Lassen Indian Health Center offers medication management and therapy through Native American Mental Health Services. While many disorders and conditions can be treated with therapy, some require prescribed medications that play an important role in healing. Through NAMHS, we are able to offer our patients additional trained professionals such as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Psychiatrists, and other medical providers for psychiatric services who are available to work with each patient individually.
Medications for Addiction Treatment (MAT) Program
Nationwide, Native Americans and Alaskan Natives are at least twice as likely as the general population to become addicted to drugs and alcohol and three times as likely to die of a drug overdose. Across Indian Country and within our community, drug misuse reaches epidemic proportions. At LIHC, we understand that the mind, body, and spirit must heal together. Through our program, we want to help those who are recovering or seeking help to recover from opioid use disorder through various culturally appropriate tools, medications, and a supportive environment to help make positive changes.
